Ever wondered how many goats you’re worth? I mean, how much is a goat really worth to you? If your answer is “I don’t know,” then this post is for you. We will go through how the Chick-fil-A system can be applied to any business and how it can be used as an effective way of measuring how well your company performs in comparison with other companies.
The Chick-fil-A system is very simple. A “chicken”
represents the least successful customer, and a “goat” represents the most profitable customer. The more chickens you have in your restaurant, the less money you’re making because they only buy an average of two items per visit (dollar menu). On the other hand, goats spend on average $17 dollars per visit to your establishment. So how many customers are worth how much? We know that one chicken equates to about five or six bucks and a goat equals twenty dollars or so—well how does this apply to our business? Well if we had three hundred people come through our doors for a day’s work at ten bucks each then it would be- as profitable to have them come in all at once.
Instead, you might want to stagger it where half of us would come through the door between 11:00 and 12:00 AM while the other half comes after noon with a staggered schedule, so that our numbers are spread out over more time instead of being bunched up for one space. This way we’re spreading customer traffic evenly throughout the day rather than feeling like an overcrowded house party—
everyone is having a good time but no one can hear what anyone else is saying!
So how many customers should I expect per hour? Well if you’ve got four hours on Saturday from 11am-11pm then people will be coming into your restaurant during those four hours .
I’m worth how many goats am i worth. How many cows do I weigh? There is no way to know for sure, but you’re probably not quite as heavy or costly as an oxen. What are these numbers supposed to mean anyway? Let’s break it down into something more useful: how much would a goat cost if it were like every other animal and had a dollar value assigned to its weight in pounds (weight-in-pounds × $/pound)? What does that have to do with me being worth how many goats ami worth ? Well, since we don’t assign individual values upon birth, this lets us calculate how expensive of livestock we’d be theoretically priced
You’re worth how many goats? A lot, apparently.
How much is a goat worth in America? It turns out that the answer to this question has been hotly debated for centuries without any conclusion being reached! So how can you figure it out on your own and how does what I do with my money affect how valuable or worthless I am? Here are some thoughts:
Theoretically, if everyone converted their assets into goats (assuming they could) then each person would be equal; no one would have more power than anyone else. But since most of us don’t want to live solely off our livestock holdings, we need to continue figuring things out based on currency until someone figures out how to calculate all assets as opposed oules and how to convert everything into goats.
How much money do you have? What can you buy with it?
For the purposes of this discussion, I’m going to use the US dollar as my currency because that’s what we’re dealing with here in America. But first things first: let’s talk about how many $100 bills are in one goat. We know how much a dollar is worth (so far), but how does that number work out for an animal like a goat?
A goat usually weighs around 100lbs and costs anywhere between $500-$1000 depending on breed, age, sex etc., which means there is one hundred dollars in every pound. So if I have two pounds of cash ($200) then I have two goats. If I had three pounds of cash ($300), then how many goats do I have?
Now, what would you say if we were using British pounds as the currency instead?
A goat can cost anywhere from £500 to £1000 depending on breed, age and sex etc., which means there is one hundred dollars in every pound (sterling). Therefore if I had two pounds (£200) then how much money am I worth: 200pounds x 100 = 2000pounds or $3000! So for a person with an annual salary of around $30k this means they are currently valued at 30×2000=$60,000 – 60% more than their actual salary! You’re worth twice your weight
