Brad Paisley’s newest album, “When I Get Where I’m Going,” was released on Tuesday. The album is a mix of country and folk music, with 11 songs in total. Brad Paisley has been an artist for over two decades now, and he hasn’t lost his touch. His lyrics are thoughtful and meaningful, yet still catchy enough to get stuck in your head the next day. In this blog post we will cover some of our favorite moments from the new album!
“Last Time For Everything” – This song talks about how easy it can be to reminisce through old memories or even find peace that things have naturally come full circle when you’ve done everything you could do in life up until this point.
“Goodbye In Her Eyes” – This song tells the story of a man who has been in love with someone for years, but can’t seem to get them out of his head or heart. He knows that they will never be together and he doesn’t want to play games anymore. They both know it’s not fair that their feelings won’t change so this is finally goodbye.”
Brad Paisley’s “When I Get Where I’m Going” is a song about how the narrator eventually gets to Heaven.
The lyrics are simple and powerful, as they paint an image of being so happy in Heaven that you can’t help but dance all night long.
It doesn’t matter what happens on earth because he already has his spot saved up for him among angels where there will be no tears or sadness.
In this way, it reminds us that while life here may not always go according to plan, we won’t have any regrets once our time on Earth ends because our place in heaven is secured from the very beginning of creation itself: “I’ve got my name written down/ In the Lamb’s Book of Life.”
The song also talks about how you can’t take anything with you to Heaven when God calls your name: “my house is still empty and my wife doesn’t care/And I’m not leaving one thing behind but a bunch of memories that will drive her insane”.
He sings as if he knows what it feels like for his wife – or any spouse, really.
Sometimes we want to hold on so tightly to our stuff even though they’re just things. We try to make sense out of them in order to explain why life was hard at times. But Paisley says these are insignificant when compared with all the other riches waiting for him up there where sorrows never come.
“I’m not leaving one thing behind but a bunch of memories that will drive her insane”
The song is about letting go, or at least getting ready to do so before it’s too late. It also speaks on the idea of what happens after death: heaven and hell.
“I can’t wait to see her face when I get where I’m going,” and the song’s narrator is eager for his wife – or any spouse, really – to meet him there.
“But a bunch of memories that will drive her insane.”
He sings as if he knows what it feels like for his wife –or any spouse, really–to be left behind with all these things they thought were important but are just insignificant compared to everything else waiting up there. It’s not so much about leaving one thing behind but being ready before it’s too late because once you’re gone there won’t be anything at all anymore.
For many of us, a typical day or week is spent running errands, going to work and trying not to let the fast pace of life get you down. How often do we take time for ourselves? When was the last time you really took a break in order to enjoy some relaxation and recharge your batteries? In today’s blog post I want to share with you 11 things that Brad Paisley says he learned from his song ‘When I Get Where I’m Going.’ Hopefully these will help inspire you on your journey through this thing called life!
Learn To Listen To Your Own Voice: Don’t just listen for what other people are telling you they think about something. There’s always more than one opinion out there so be open to hearing what others have to say.
Know That You’re Not Alone: There are people out there who love you, care about you and want the best for you. They may not be able to make your decisions but they’ll try their hardest if they know that’s what you need from them.
If Things Aren’t Working Out The Way You Planned…Think About Why: It could be because of something as simple as forgetting a step or someone else’s actions it could also just mean that this was never supposed to happen in the first place. When things don’t go our way we tend to overreact and miss all of the good stuff happening around us during these trying times so always take time for yourself even when
you’re just taking a walk and don’t be afraid to ask for help.
Forgive And Forget: There will always be people who disappoint us, hurt us or let us down but that’s what relationships are all about. We forgive them when they make mistakes because we love them enough to know it won’t happen again and then leave the past in the past so no one ever gets stuck dwelling on something bad from years ago.
Laugh When You Can: It sounds simple but laughter is medicine even if you think things shouldn’t be funny right now keep looking for those small moments of happiness to get through these tough times together with your loved ones by being as silly as possible whenever you can!
Hold On To Your Faith: There are lots of things we can’t control but the one thing you should hold on to is your faith. Of course it will be hard and some days might not make any sense at all but God promises to never leave us or forsake us so that has to count for something.
